Skepticality podcast

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Derek and Swoopy interviewed me about the site on episode #84. It was great to finally visit their studio, which is right nearby here in Atlanta.

The Guardian (UK)

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Rose Shapiro recounts "A Bad Week for Alternative Medicine" in the news, and works in a nice plug for the site. Take a look at Rose's great book "Suckers: How Alternative Medicine Makes Fools of Us All" in the store.

ABC News

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

A nice profile of the site by Tuan Nguyen, including some background as to why I started it. It is titled "Victimized by Astrology and... Veganism?" (I made some adjustments to the vegetarianism category as a result of the criticisms here).

Excerpt:

"I think it's excellent," Michael Shermer, president of The Skeptics Society, says of the site. "'What's the harm?' is the question that all of us skeptics get asked whenever we do interviews on T.V. or debate people about irrational beliefs. And often, they are quite harmful."

Live Science

Thursday, July 17, 2008

In a story titled "Psychic Nearly Destroys Family" writer and investigator Ben Radford tells the story of Colleen & Victoria Leduc, who are also here in our psychics category. Ben has written some great books, check them out.

Discover / Bad Astronomy

February 12, 2008

Just a few weeks after I launched the site, Dr. Phil Plait (the Bad Astronomer) highlighted it in a blog post. Holy traffic boost, batman! It was a huge leg up for the visibility of the site. (And he followed up with more links too!). He recently released his second book, "Death from the Skies" and I recommend you give it a look.
